Adrian Newey Career
Adrian Newey is a British engineer and is currently the Chief Technical Officer of the Red Bull racing F1 team. He has worked for multiple motorsport teams as a race engineer, aerodynamicist, designer and technical. Newey is considered to be one of the best engineers in the motorsport fraternity including Formula One.
Newey has been associated with motorsport since 1984. He took his first plunge into F1 in 1988 for the March team, which was later renamed the Leyton House Racing team. He worked with them for three years before moving to the Williams F1 team in 1991. Newey had a successful tenure at Williams from 1991-1997, with his cars registering 59 race victories. He then moved to McLaren in 1997 and worked there for close to a decade till 2005. Newey’s time with McLaren was a not-so-successful one and he eventually made the switch to Red Bull in 2006.
Newey joined his current team Red Bull in 2006. Red Bull emerged as a singular powerhouse over the last decade in F1 and Newey has played a pivotal role in their stellar success.
