AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam show was quite grand, but this Friday’s AEW Rampage Grand Slam (h/t Pwinsider, Ewrestling News) is going to be quite epic as well since the fans will see CM Punk in action against Hobbs along with Adam Cole, Chris Jericho, and Eddie Kingston.
AEW Rampage Grand Slam spoilers that took place for the Friday night event.
- Punk can be seen wearing the famous trunks again, since he wore pants in his debut match against Darby Allin. CM Punk and Hobbs clashed with Hobbs going all out against “The Best in the World,” but Punk came back from behind and gave the GTS to Hobbs and pinned him.
- In some tag team action, the Jurassic Express was defeated by Adam Cole and The Young Bucks. It turned out to be an entertaining segment. However, Lachasaurus got hit by a Panama sunrise, BTE trigger, and the last shot in the ending sequence.
- In another segment, Jericho and Hager attacked Dan Lambert but instead, both got a group beating from all the MMA fighters coming in lately. Jericho and Hager were defeated by Men of the Year. This segment even saw Tony Khan coming out on the ring, but even he got laid out. This might not be a part of the broadcast, though.
- The Lucha Brothers and Santana & Ortiz, who were apparently dressed like the Furies from the Warriors, got the better of The Butcher, the Blade, and Private Party. Orange Cassidy also made one cameo, and he laid out Jack Evans.
- Miro laid the waste to the sign promos of Sammy Guevara and Fuego Del Sol. He also applied “Game Over” on Guevara tore one o the cards which said “the next TNT” champ.
- Penelope Ford pinned Anna, Jay. It saw Tay Conti go to the ring to make the save, and along with that The Hardy Family also went out for the save but couldn’t get past Dark Order, Kris Statlander and Orange Cassidy. Stu Grayson and Evil Uno left off from the Dark Order. Uno teased going heel for a bit, but instead it went the other way around with Grayson. Colt Cabana seemed quite upset over what was happening in the group and the group hugged together without Colt.
- A special no-hold-barred match between Eddie Kingston and Jon Moxley and Lance Archer and Minoru Suzuki in the lights out, which Eddie and Moxley won.
Since this match turned out to be a brawl as weapons were used along with a lot of featured physicality, and everyone got almost the same amount of punishment, including chops and strikes.
Moxley took a lot of beating from his opponents as his hands were tied behind his back. The fans went crazy as former ROH Champion Homicide got introduced, and he helped Moxley. The highlight of the match was when Kingston put a trash can over the head of Archer and beat it 20 times, and he finally got the victory with a pinfall.
