The promising Alexei Popyrin locks horns with Bradley Klahn of the USA in the qualifiers of the 2023 Indian Wells on Monday.

The Aussie youngster had a good start to the season as he made it to the quarterfinals of the Adelaide International 1. He defeated Felix Auger-Aliassime and Marcis Giron before going down to Yoshihito Nishioka. In the round of 32 of the Adelaide International 2, Thanasi Kokkinakis ousted him in a riveting match. Popyrin went on to reach the third round of the Australian Open for the third time in his career. His campaign included a huge upset win against 8th seed Taylor Fritz. In the quarterfinals of a Challenger event in Manama, Popyrin once again lost to Kokkinakis.
Before Indian Wells, Popyrin played in the Dubai Tennis Championships where he lost to Pavel Kotov in the round of 32 in three sets.
Bradley Klahn
The 32-year-old began the season with a loss in the first round of a Challenger event in Canberra. He lost to Enzo Couacaud in the second round of qualifying for the Australian Open. Klahn went on to play a couple of Challenger events in Cleveland and Monterrey without much success.
Prior to the Indian Wells, Klahn plied his trade in the Mexican Open. His campaign ended in the first round of qualifying as he lost to Elias Ymer.
