Two-time NBA champion and former Los Angeles Lakers star has claimed that trading LeBron James would help the franchise after their horrible start to the season.

The Los Angeles Lakers have had a horrible start to their season. The Lakers, despite boasting of a roster that hosts one of the greatest players of all time in LeBron James along with Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook. While the Lakers fans hoped for the franchise to put up a strong comeback after failing to qualify for the Playoffs last season, it has not exactly gone to plan.

The Lakers started the season with five successive defeats, and currently hold a 3-10 record in their 13 games played so far this season. Their star-studded cast has not been able to get them the results they need, and while the blame for the losses has shifted frequently from player to player – the root of the problems for the Lakers seems to be much deeper than it seems to be.

The Lakers’ troubles got even harder when LeBron James injured his left abductor muscle and missed two of the last three games. However, the Lakers won their last game against the Brooklyn Nets without James with Davis and Lonnie Walker IV putting in the star shifts – prompting former Laker Lamar Odom to say that the Lakers are better off without LeBron.

Even though LeBron is one of the best players to ever play the game, he is not getting any younger at 37 and his shooting continues to decline. The Lakers did look like a more gelled outfit without him against the Nets, prompting Odom to put forward his advice of trading LeBron.

If you trade LeBron, you know you’re doing more than rebuilding. … If you did, probably going to put yourself back into contention,” the Odom said. “You can get half a team… you’re picking two or three players that [have] been playing together already.” Odom added: “I do call him ‘God James,’ but ‘God’ knows that the world evolves.”
