During the 2019 offseason, Stephen Curry decided to do something different with his hair and out cam the Steph Curry braids. It looked cool, to say the least, Curry had always sported some cool styles, but the braids surpassed them all. But the Steph Curry braids did not last very long for an interesting reason.

The Golden State Warriors had started the 2020-21 NBA season with a couple of losses before Steph decided to ditch the braids and rock a mini-afro instead. The result was instantaneous; in Curry’s first game without braids, the Warriors were able to notch their first win of the season, and Curry had his first good game of the season as well.

In a postgame interview, Steph was even asked if the braids would be seen again anytime soon, and he responded by saying probably not.

This resulted in the Steph Curry braids becoming a thing of the past as Curry decided to go with his regular hairstyle for the rest of the season.

The Golden State Warriors beat the Denver Nuggets, Memphis Grizzlies and Dallas Mavericks to reach the NBA Finals once again. In the finals, they met with the Boston Celtics and beat them in a six game series. Curry averaged 31.2 points per game, six rebounds per game and five assists per game and won his first Finals MVP award to go along with his fourth NBA Championship ring.
