If there is one player which the Los Angeles Rams fear – it is San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel. However, the defending champions are lucky that their most feared opponent will not be able to torture them in the upcoming Week 8 encounter.
To those who are unaware, Samuel Deebo suffered an injury against the Kansas City Chiefs last Sunday, after which he hasn’t practiced for the entire week. As a result of which, the marquee WR has been ruled out of his team’s next showdown against the Rams on Sunday. Moreover, with the 49ers’ set for their bye week after Sunday’s game in LA, Samuel Deebo will have an extra week at his disposal to get back in proper game-shape before November 13 (Niners go up against Chargers).
Coach Kyle Shanahan also stated that it is no precaution that the team is taking to give time off to Samuel Deebo – the marquee QB is just not ready to compete on the field. This will be a huge loss for the team as in seven career starts against the Rams, Deebo has had 66 touches for 740 yards and seven TouchDowns. More precisely, in the past five of those mentioned games, he has had 52 touches for 621 yards and 5 TouchDowns.
Samuel Deebo’s absence is a big relief for the Los Angeles Rams
“It’s not a precaution,” coach Kyle Shanahan said, as per ESPN. “He’s not good enough to go. The fact that he even had a chance means hopefully he’ll be good with the week off and ready for the next game.”
Apart from Deebo Samuels, there are some others also ruled out for the Week 8 contest for San Francisco 49ers. Defensive lineman Arik Armstead is ruled out due to foot injury. Fullback Kyle Juszczyk has been ruled out due to a broken finger. Lastly, Linebacker Dre Greeenlaw has been ruled out due to calf issues.
