Andrey Rublev‘s cute reaction after being told that he is getting better at controlling his negative emotions has gone viral on social. Rublev is currently in the United Arab Emirates and is playing at the Dubai Tennis Championships. The Russian tennis star has a reputation for being too arrogant and aggressive when things don’t go his way on the court.

After registering a comprehensive 7-5, 6-2 win over Filip Krajinovic in the first round of the Dubai Tennis Championships, Rublev spoke in the post-match interaction. When told by the host that the general feeling is that he is getting better at controlling “negative emotions, Rublev gave an awkward smile and asked: “You think so?” Once reassured by the host that she isn’t joking, Rublev responded: “If you are saying this, then I’m happy. I hope that I’m improving.”

Rublev is now set to face Spain’s Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in the next round tomorrow.
