2. Final Fantasy XV
The story is set on the planet Eos, which is similar to Earth. The empire of Niflhem rules the planet, seeking control of a magical Crystal guarded by the Lucian royal line. On the day Noctis, the Lucian heir, was to marry Lunafreya, he and his friends received word that Niflheim had been assaulted, the crystal had been lost, King Regis had been assassinated, and Noctis and Lunafreya had been reported dead. Now Noctis must assemble enough strength and allies to uncover the truth and recapture the crystal as well as the crown. Strange mechanical monsters from another world have taken control of humanity. In a last-ditch effort to reclaim the planet, mankind has created an army of android troops to fight the invaders. The user will be able to take on the roles of androids 2B, 9S, and A2, each with their own unique perspective on the events occurring in front of them. NieR: Automata has tons of replayability as there are a huge number of things players can do if they choose different subchapters and endings. Nier: Automata will keep you busy if you wish to explore and dive deep into every nook and cranny of a gloomy future environment.
7. Genshin Impact
Genshin Impact is a free-to-play role-playing game, unlike anything we’ve seen before. It has polish, a strong primary premise, a beautiful and bustling open world, co-op, cross-play, a modest paywall, plus it’s an anime game. While comparing it to the anime version of Breath of the Wild doesn’t capture the whole narrative, it does give you an idea of how essential the open world is in this game. Once you’ve completed the tutorial, the open world will lure you in every direction, with camps of foes to clear out for chests, puzzles to solve using environmental abilities, and resources to craft and cook with. Tales of Berseria fulfills the criteria and then some if you’re seeking a conventional JRPG with a significant anime twist. The action is difficult enough to keep you engaged during the roughly 60-hour campaign, even if it isn’t wholly unique, but the emotional tale is the true draw. Tales of Berseria follows a persistently badass female protagonist – a first for the franchise – on her quest to revenge her brother’s death by slaying his murderer, defying a slew of trends we won’t soon forget. It may sound predictable, but Tales of Berseria will surprise you at every twist, and keep you entertained long enough to see what happens next.
