Miesha Tate has given her prediction for the upcoming clash between women’s strawweights Rose Namajunas and Weili Zhang.

Namajunas and Zhang go head to head this weekend in a title’s clash for the women’s strawweight championship.

Zhang will be going into her second title defense after ‘that’ war against Joanna Jędrzejczyk at UFC 248. Namajunas, on the other hand, is coming off a victory against Jessica Andrade at UFC 251.

There will be a lot at stake at the co-main event of UFC 261, as the submission artist Thug Rose goes against the powerful Chinese.

As the fight is inching closer, a lot of experts and fighters have begun giving their predictions. And, UFC returnee Miesha Tate recently weighed in on the high-voltage clash.

Speaking to The Schmo, Tate revealed that she felt Thug Rose has more paths to winning this fight, because of her agility and elite submission game. Speaking of which she said:

“I feel like Rose has more paths to victory if that makes sense. I know she can strike with the best, she’s very fast, very elusive.

She’s got an amazing submission game, she does the flying triangles, armbars, things like that. We haven’t seen her doing much, as of recent. But, I think that might just be a tool that’s up her sleeve, if she feels like she needs to get it done there.”

She spoke about the chances of Zhang in the fight, before going on to conclude that she was leaning a bit towards Rose.

Tate said:

“But Weili, I think is gonna be much more powerful, she’s very explosive, she’s super strong and very aggressive on the feet. It’s tough to say, but I think right now, I feel like I am leaning a little bit towards Rose.”

Weili Zhang is the favourite going into the fight

Going into the co-main event of UFC 261, Zhang is the favourite with odds of -191. Namajunas, for her part, is the underdog at odds of +163.

Namajunas will be looking forward to laying her hands back on the title, which she won back in November 2017 against Joanna Jędrzejczyk at UFC 217, with an ecstatic Daniel Cormier screaming on air – Thug Rose! Thug Rose! Thug Rose!

As for Zhang, she will be hoping that her hand unbeaten record in the UFC would continue, as she currently is 5-0 in her UFC career
