WWE alters name and accent of 24/7 Champion Reginald on Friday Night SmackDown
Reginald has finally come out with his real accent and will be renamed as ‘Reggie’ after his newfound role in WWE.
Reggie won the 24/7 Championship and has successfully defended his title on both RAW and SmackDown. The former circus performer has finally revealed it all in a backstage interview on SmackDown saying:
“Look, I’m not from France, I’m from St. Louis, Missouri. I’ve been a fan of WWE my entire life. I saw a posting that Carmella needed a sommelier. I thought, I can do that. But she wanted me to speak French and also speak in a French accent. I’m like, if I need to do this, I certainly can. But that was never the goal. My goal was to get a foot into the door, and now I’m the 24/7 Champion.”
Reginald was later the manager of Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax on WWE RAW, during their tag team title feud. The push for Reggie is deserved and we have already seen glimpses of his acrobatics on the main roster.
He began his career as a sommelier to Carmella, but that ended on bad terms when she fired him after her rivalry with Sasha Banks.
What is Carmella’s future on SmackDown?
Carmella interrupted SmackDown Women Champion Bianca Belair to make a point. The point being that she has had an even more dominant title reign on the show and is still the best. She attacked Belair with Vega until Sasha Banks came to the rescue.
Now that the title scene is taking shape, Carmella may start a rivalry with Vega as they will be pushed from the Championship scene. With SummerSlam in a month, we can possibly see a rivalry cooking up for the former champion. She is also a former Money in the Bank and has shown her glamour and wrestling skillset together.
